Over 500 Glades students in the 8th through 12th grade learned about the range of hospital careers and job opportunities at Lakeside Medical Center, the acute-care, teaching facility in Belle Glade that is accredited by The Joint Commission. Kimberly Randall, RN BSN, Clinical Educator; Terri Calsetta, Director, Patient Experience and Hospital Communications; and Alyssa Tarter, Risk Manager at Lakeside Medical Center participated at two local high schools’ Career Days, Everglades Preparatory Academy in Pahokee and Glades Central Community High School in Belle Glade. There they answered students’ questions about careers in the medical field and distributed informational material.LMC table at event

“Because of Lakeside Medical Center’s involvement in our Career Day, our students were educated about careers they may have never considered,” wrote Sherry Canty, Choice Coordinator, Glades Central Community High School in a letter to the hospital. “Your patience and kind demeanor made our students feel comfortable asking questions and obtaining much needed information that will prove invaluable in their future career plans and aspirations.”

The letter of appreciation noted “…the continued effort of supporters like Lakeside Medical Center that are focused on the success of our future generation.”
