Trauma Agency Specialist

Ashlie Arones’ artistic journey began at age 10 when she received her first film camera, a pink Barbie 35mm, which she still has today. While she has always loved photography, she didn’t pursue it seriously until college when an inspiring photography professor challenged her and her classmates to become the best artists they could be, teaching them how to tell powerful stories through images and emphasizing the importance of detail.
Ashlie took the photos featured in this gallery at outdoor locations across Palm Beach County, including Jupiter, Boynton Beach and Wellington. Her goal was to capture each model’s most authentic self, helping the women recognize their beauty and feel a sense of liberation.
A lifelong creator, Ashlie has always loved working with her hands and learning new crafts. As a child, she frequently found herself in the principal’s office, not because she was in trouble, but to proudly show off her latest artistic creations.
Photography remains Ashlie’s primary artistic passion, but her creative pursuits extend far beyond the lens. She has explored logo and graphic design, video recording and editing, charcoal drawing, and scrapbook collaging. She once even ran a custom sticker business. While she loves capturing photos of people, she also enjoys photographing animals, especially dogs and exotic creatures, using her art as the perfect excuse to interact with them.
Born in Peru, Ashlie has lived in Florida since she was five. A fun fact about Ashlie is that she taught herself English by watching Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob SquarePants and surprised her parents by suddenly speaking it one day.
Ashlie joined the Health Care District of Palm Beach County in October 2024 as the Trauma Agency Specialist, educating the community about trauma prevention. Before stepping into this role, she served as a community Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance® instructor for the Health Care District’s fall prevention program, helping residents build strength and feel more confident on their feet. It’s a program she continues to support. Her favorite part of her role is empowering Palm Beach County residents, particularly high school students, with knowledge that could one day help them prevent injuries or even save lives.
Outside of photography and community outreach, Ashlie’s passions include hip-hop dancing (a love that began in middle school), solving puzzles, reading, and watching musicals.
She offers this piece of advice, inspired by one of her favorite quotes:
“In order to do something well, we must first be willing to do it badly.” – Julia Cameron
To Ashlie, this means: don’t let the fear of imperfection stop you from trying.
