Health Care District Offers Pfizer COVID-19 Boosters Outside Lantana Clinic for Ages 12+

The Health Care District of Palm Beach County is now offering free, walk-up Pfizer booster shots for children as young as 12 at its mobile unit in the parking lot of its Lantana clinic located at 1250 Southwinds Drive in Lantana, Florida. The hours of operation are weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We encourage parents to bring their eligible children in for their third dose now that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has authorized boosters for children 12 to 15 years of age,” said Belma Andrić, MD, MPH, the Health Care District’s Chief Medical Officer. “The booster is safe, can be administered five months after the second shot, and is the same vaccine these youngsters received for their first and second doses. As the Omicron variant surges, this is an additional layer of protection against COVID-19.”

Wait times are minimal for first, second and third doses. A parent or guardian must be present for those who are 17 years old and younger. Those interested in receiving a booster shot should bring their COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card showing it’s been at least five months since they received their second dose. A provider will add the information about the booster dose to the card.

The Health Care District is also offering COVID-19 vaccinations to patients during regular doctor’s office visits at all of the nine C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinic sites throughout the county, which are located in areas of need. Appointments can be made by calling 561-642-1000. To date, the Health Care District has provided over 225,000 COVID-19 vaccinations in Palm Beach County.
