Tammy Jackson-Moore Appointed to Serve on the Health Care District of Palm Beach County Board

Portrait of Tammy Jackson-MooreTammy Jackson-Moore was recently appointed by the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners to serve a four-year term on the Board of the Health Care District of Palm Beach County. Ms. Jackson-Moore was sworn in by Commissioner Leslie B. Daniels, Board Chair at the Board’s public meeting on December 10, 2019.

“I look forward to working closely with fellow board members and the leadership team at the Health Care District,” said Ms. Jackson-Moore. “For over 30 years, the District has been providing a health care safety net to the citizens of Palm Beach County and I am grateful for the opportunity to help meet the needs of our community.”

Ms. Jackson-Moore is a consultant, a community organizer, and an advocate for the Glades community. She has worked tirelessly to transform the lives of many and to better the community around her. Her hard work has allowed her to receive distinguished recognition including Who's Who in Black South Florida, and to serve as chairperson of the Palm Beach County Commission on Women. She is the co-founder of Guardians of the Glades, an advocacy organization that works on behalf of the Glades communities.

“We are pleased to welcome Ms. Jackson-Moore as the newest Commissioner to the Health Care District Board,” said Darcy J. Davis, Health Care District CEO. “Her leadership roles in the rural, western communities will be an asset to the Palm Beach County residents we serve.”

She formerly worked as a Public Information Officer and Outreach Specialist for the South FL Water Management District, as well as a Deputy City Manager in municipal government. She also served in a leadership role for the American Red Cross. A member of various boards and committees, Ms. Jackson-Moore serves as the Secretary of the Lake Okeechobee Regional Economic (LORE) Alliance of Palm Beach County, and the Palm Tran Service Board. She also served as a panelist on the 2018 Reignite Florida Leadership Summit.

“Ms. Jackson-Moore’s government and non-profit experience in the Glades community will be an asset to the Health Care District Board and our community,” said Leslie B. Daniels, Board Chair. “We very much look forward to working with her to meet our goals of providing high quality health care to all residents.”  

Serving a four-year term from October 8, 2019 to September 30, 2023, Ms. Jackson-Moore replaces Commissioner Brian R. Lohmann, whose term expired. The other Board members of the Health Care District Board include Leslie B. Daniels, Chair; Nancy C. Banner, P.A., Vice Chair; Sean O’Bannon, Secretary; Alina M. Alonso, MD, Director of the Florida Department of Health for Palm Beach County; Cory Neering; and Edward G. Sabin.

“It’s been a pleasure to serve,” said Brian R. Lohmann, former Board Chair. “My heart is in the Glades and the people we serve. It’s been a very rewarding experience.”
