Nuvia Rodriguez Machado, RN, BSN, with the C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics, is Named a “Nurse of the Year”

Nuvia OutsideNuvia Rodriguez Machado, RN, BSN, Senior Clinical Nurse with the C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics, is one of 17 local nurses honored by Palm Healthcare Foundation as a “Nurse of the Year.” Nuvia is the clinical backbone at the Lantana Clinic where she supervises, trains the clinical staff, maintains patient flow, triages and educates patients, and works with medical providers.  Nuvia also serves as the RN-leader with the outpatient Medication Assisted Treatment program (MAT) which is helping to combat the county’s opioid addiction crisis one patient at a time. Nuvia takes pride in working with pediatric patients on follow-up care and vaccinations.  The C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics, Federally Qualified Health Centers owned and operated by the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, serve all patients, with or without insurance.

“I enjoy being able to help all of our patients to achieve good health and recovery,” Nuvia said.  “Many of our patients find it difficult to navigate our complex health care system and I try to assist them and make the process easier.”

The outstanding nurses were recognized at the fifth annual Heart of Gold Nursing Reception at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach Thursday, May 11th, 2018 in front of a crowd of more than 300 people. Nuvia, who launched her medical career in Cuba where she served as an anesthesiologist, is currently pursuing a degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner and teaches college nutrition classes. Palm Healthcare Foundation featured her story in the May 15th, 2018 edition of the Palm Beach Post.
