Gov. Rick Scott Appoints Health Care District ‘s Trauma Nurse Outreach Coordinator to Florida Trauma System Advisory Council

Governor Rick Scott has appointed David Summers, RN, CFRN, EMT-P, the Health Care District of Palm Beach County’s Trauma Nurse Outreach Coordinator to serve as a member of the Florida Trauma System Advisory Council.  Summers is one of eleven leading experts Governor Scott appointed to the new advisory council on April 27th, 2018. Members are charged with maintaining and improving trauma care in Florida.

“It will be an honor to serve with Florida’s leading trauma specialists to address current trauma challenges and develop solutions that can be applied today and into the future,” said Summers, a Palm Beach County resident and father of two grown sons.

Summers has applied his years as a Trauma Department nurse at St. Mary’s Medical Center to his current role with the Health Care District where he provides safety and emergency training on how to stop life-threatening bleeding and prevent traumatic injuries, like falls and distracted and impaired driving.
