Health Care District participates in 2016 Palm Beach Heart Walk
More than 70 Health Care District of Palm Beach County employees and their families put their best foot forward at the American Heart Association’s Palm Beach County Heart Walk on Saturday, September 24th along Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach.
Wearing their lime green “Health Matters” t-shirts, team members proudly joined the estimated 12,000 participants who walked the 3.1 mile route to raise awareness about the fight against heart disease.
Thanks to their generosity and the efforts of the District’s Human Resources team, the Health Care District’s staff reached their goal of raising $10,000 in donations for the American Heart Association to apply toward lifesaving research.
Those participating in the walk included Darcy J. Davis, Chief Executive Officer, Christopher F. Irizarry, Vice President and Executive Director of Clinic Services, Dawn Richards, Chief Executive Officer and employees from nearly every Health Care District program and department.
This is the fourth year that the Health Care District participated in the Heart Walk. The Health Care District’s Public Relations employees were proud to staff an outreach table at the event and provide attendees with information and materials about the District’s various programs and services.
This year the Palm Beach County Heart Walk surpassed its fundraising goal, raising more than $1 million.
