Alyssa Tarter, MSN, RN, CPHRM, CPPS, is the Associate Vice President of Nursing for Lakeside Medical Center, bringing a wealth of experience in healthcare leadership, nursing management, and operational excellence. Born and raised in the rural town of Clewiston, Florida, Tarter has extensive experience in nursing, risk management, and compliance. With a background rooted in clinical and administrative roles, she is dedicated to enhancing patient care quality and ensuring the seamless integration of nursing practices across all levels of the organization.

Prior to this role, Tarter held leadership positions in nursing and enterprise risk management, where she successfully oversaw departmental functions, streamlined processes, and led teams to achieve performance improvement goals. Previously, she was the Health Care District’s Director of Corporate Risk Management and formerly the Director of Nursing at Lakeside Medical Center. Her focus on fostering a collaborative, patient-centered environment has resulted in improved patient outcomes and satisfaction scores. 

She has worked extensively with multidisciplinary teams, implementing strategies that enhance patient care delivery and the overall efficiency of hospital operations. With more than 14 years of experience in health care, Tarter brings expertise in managing complex systems, optimizing resource allocation, and driving initiatives that align with the organization’s mission and goals. She has a deep understanding of regulatory compliance, quality assurance, risk management, and financial stewardship and maintains a strong commitment to nurturing a positive work culture for hospital staff.

Tarter earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University. She holds certifications as a Certified Professional in Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM) and Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), demonstrating her ongoing commitment to professional development and excellence in healthcare leadership.
