Health Care District of Palm Beach County’s Skilled Nursing Center Earns Prestigious “Best Nursing Home” Distinctions
The Health Care District of Palm Beach County’s Skilled Nursing Center (Healey Center) in Riviera Beach, Florida, has earned two prominent national honors for excellence in long-term care: a spot onNewsweek’s 2026 list of “America’s Best Nursing Homes” and U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Nursing Homes” designation for long-term care — for the sixth consecutive year.
The Health Care District’s Skilled Nursing Center serves a younger adult population compared to most nursing facilities, with an average resident age of 66. Many residents are living with traumatic injuries, strokes, or complex medical conditions. The center’s interdisciplinary healthcare team is dedicated to helping residents achieve and maintain the highest possible levels of physical, emotional, and social functioning.

Newsweek’s 2026 recognition, developed in partnership with Statista, a global leader in data analytics and industry rankings, highlights the top 1,200 nursing homes in the U.S. out of 14,752 analyzed. The evaluation is based on four key pillars, including performance data, peer recommendations, accreditations and resident satisfaction, with performance data carrying an increased weight in 2026 to reflect the growing emphasis on clinical quality metrics. A team of analysts identified the top facilities using a range of data points and metrics published by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS),
U.S. News & World Report rated the District’s Skilled Nursing Center “High Performing” with an overall score of 5 out of 5. Fewer than 19% of the nearly 15,000 U.S. facilities evaluated earned the “Best Nursing Home” designation. The 2026 U.S. News & World Report ratings include 17 distinct quality measures calculated from CMS data that includes post-acute care quality, nurse staffing consistency and patient-centered outcomes.
