Health Care District of Palm Beach County Welcomes New Physicians
The Health Care District of Palm Beach County proudly announces the addition of six accomplished physicians to its dedicated team of professionals. Dr. Jose Hernandez Garcia, Dr. Michael Zhang, Dr. Claudia Isabella Tussey, Dr. Joshua Adametz, Dr. Patrick J. Regan, and Dr. Ana Bernard bring a wealth of experience and expertise, further enhancing the Health Care District’s commitment to providing top-quality healthcare services to the community.
Jose Hernandez Garcia, MD, FAAP joins the C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics’ West Palm Beach community health center and Lakeside Medical Center, the Health Care District’s rural teaching hospital in Belle Glade, as a board-certified pediatrician specializing in primary care. Since 2015, Dr. Hernandez Garcia has delivered compassionate and comprehensive care to children in private outpatient and Federally Qualified Health Center settings. He completed his medical education at Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) in the Dominican Republic, followed by a pediatric medicine residency at BronxCare Health in Bronx, New York. His experience as the attending pediatric supervisor for family medicine residents at the Center for Family Health for Henry Ford Jackson Hospital in Jackson, Michigan, further enriched his clinical skills. Dr. Hernandez Garcia is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
Michael Zhang, MD, MPH, joins the team at the C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics’ Jupiter community health center, where he focuses on providing exceptional primary care services to adult patients. Board-certified in preventive medicine and board-eligible in occupational medicine, Dr. Zhang's expertise extends to specialized areas such as sports medicine and musculoskeletal injuries. He previously practiced at Southern Nevada Community Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Zhang completed his medical training at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and further honed his skills through an internship in internal medicine at Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. He completed a residency in preventive medicine at the Southern Nevada Health District in Las Vegas, Nevada, and an occupational and environmental medicine residency at the University of California – San Francisco. He holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. Dr. Zhang is a member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, American College of Preventive Medicine and the Florida Association of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
Claudia Isabella Tussey, MD, MPH, joins the team at the C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics’ Delray Beach community health center, where she provides primary care services to adult patients. Board-certified in family medicine, Dr. Tussey also has experience in specialized areas such as public and community health, maternal and child health, obstetrics, family planning, and addiction medicine. Before joining the Health Care District, Dr. Tussey was an attending physician at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, North Carolina for five years where she practiced full-spectrum family medicine in the community health center, attended deliveries at the main hospital and taught medical students and residents. Dr. Tussey completed her medical training at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. She completed a residency in family medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and an obstetrics fellowship at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. She holds a Master of Public Health degree from the UNC Chapel Hill Gillings School of Public Health. Dr. Tussey is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She speaks English, Spanish and French.
Joshua Adametz, DMD, MPH, MA joins the Health Care District team as Dental Director of the C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics where he oversees the dental providers and services, establishes protocols and procedures to ensure quality of care for all dental patients and treats adult and pediatric dental patients. Prior to joining the Health Care District, Dr. Adametz was Dental Director for the Florida Community Health Centers. Previously, he was a general dentist and Associate Dental Director for Lakeshore Community Health Care in Wisconsin. Dr. Adametz received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry at Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa, Arizona. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Florida State University, a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Midwestern University and a Master of Public Health from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences. He is a member of the American Dental Association.
Ana Bernard, DDS, joins the team as a dentist at the C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics’ Delray Beach community health center, where she treats adult patients. Prior to joining the Health Care District, she was a dentist for a private practice office in Kingsland, Georgia, for nine years. Previously, she served as Dental Director for a community health center in Anderson, Indiana, and she was a dentist for the Florida Department of Health in Saint Augustine, Florida, where she treated pediatric patients and HIV+ adult patients as part of the Ryan White program. Dr. Bernard received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is a member of the American Dental Association and the Florida Dental Association. Dr. Bernard speaks English, German and Romanian.
Patrick J. Regan, DO joins the team as a board-certified general surgeon. Dr. Regan performs surgery at Lakeside Medical Center and provides exceptional pre-op and post-op care services to patients at the C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics’ Belle Glade community health center. Dr. Regan has more than 25 years of diverse medical practice experience, including trauma, critical care, pediatric, acute care, and general surgery, and is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Florida State University. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and completed his general surgery residency at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Regan is a member of the American Medical Association.
