Lakeside Medical Center Hosts Community Baby Shower

About 30 new mothers, moms-to-be and their guests enjoyed a festive community baby shower on October 27th, 2018 at Lakeside Medical Center, the Health Care District of Palm Beach County’s acute care teaching hospital in Belle Glade. The fun event, hosted in partnership with the Bridges of Belle Glade, provided tools and tips on newborn care and safety. Guests played games and learned about breastfeeding, nutrition, safe sleep and car seat safety.  One of the expectant moms who works full-time during the week said she appreciated the shower being held on a Saturday.  Guests received car seats, pack-n-plays, diapers, infant safety kits, and baby bath kits. The event also raised awareness about National Infant Mortality Awareness Month and Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Other participating community agencies included the Health Care District’s C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics, Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County, the Palm Beach County Public Library- Belle Glade Branch, Safe Kids, and the Sickle Cell Foundation of Palm Beach County.
