District’s Director of Maintenance Awarded Safety Training Scholarship

Steve Docekal, Health Care District of Palm Beach County’s Director of Maintenance with the Trauma Hawk Aeromedical Program, has been awarded the MedEvac Foundation International’s 2018 Safety Management Training Academy (SMTA) scholarship. SMTA provides formal continuing education for individuals (and their organizations) interested in improving their understanding of safety systems theory and the application of that theory to the practice of medical transportation.

“It is my goal as Director of Maintenance to insure that our aircraft are in optimal airworthy conditions,” Docekal said. “SMTA will provide me with the tools and techniques to improve the overall safety of our program.”Docekal is a veteran Health Care District employee who oversees the in-house maintenance of the Health Care District’s two Federal Aviation Administration-certified helicopter air ambulances known as “Trauma Hawk.”
