Belma Andric, MD, MPH, Chief Medical Officer of the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, participated as a speaker with the American Cancer Society's national colon cancer round table on November 18 in Bethesda, Maryland.
She was invited to deliver a presentation about the C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics' colorectal cancer prevention program which has one of the highest screening rates among community health centers in the country.
Seventy-six percent of clinic patients age 50-75 years are screened for colon cancer at the present time. The average rate among community health centers is 38%.
