In recognition of October being National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, ladies who have their mammograms done at Lakeside Medical Center are given a beautiful pink rose tied with the pink ribbon that is so well known as the symbol of breast cancer.
Melissa Triana, Radiology Technologist and Michelle Bush, Radiology Technologist both have Advanced Licenses in Mammography and a combined 27 years of experience. They are dedicated to their craft and are proud of the fact that Lakeside continues to be certified by the FDA's Mammography Quality Standards Act and Program (MQSA) without findings.
Together they help maintain the standards necessary to receive the Susan G. Komen South Florida grant each year. That grant enables us to do free mammograms for the uninsured in our communities. Our sincerest thanks to Michelle and Melissa for all they do!

Lakeside Medical Center began fundraising efforts this week for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. The Admitting and IT Departments started us off with a bake sale full of homemade scrumptious goodies, followed by a food sale that featured beef empanadas, yuka, congri, pork, meatballs and shrimp & crab pasta salad.
At the same time they offered raffle tickets for a basket of luxuries including two Yeti-style cups with breast cancer awareness emblems that was won by Rose Lopez, Practice Manager C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinic in Belle Glade.
Congratulations and thank you to Admitting for raising a phenomenal $1,150.00!
