Lakeside Health Advisory Board Chair nominated for Leadership Excellence Award

The Health Care District congratulates Lakeside Health Advisory Board Chair Donia Roberts, Esq., who was honored by Leadership Palm Beach County as a nominee for the 2016 Leadership Excellence Award. The award celebrates individuals who have made significant and notable contributions for the betterment of the community.

The nominees were honored at an event on June 8 at the Kravis Center. West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio introduced the 10 Leadership Excellence finalists at the event. Family and friends attended the event with Ms. Roberts, along with Lakeside Health Advisory Board Vice Chair Sandra Chamblee, Richard Roche, VP & Chief Administrative Officer/Hospital Administrator, Lakeside Medical Center, and Elizabeth Cayson, the Health Care District's Government Relations Specialist.

Ms. Roberts has served the Glades community for over 20 years through her law practice, government service and leadership in non-profit organizations, including the Lakeside Health Advisory Board, United Way of Palm Beach County, Lake Okeechobee Regional Economic Alliance, Inc. (LORE) and Pahokee Rotary Club.

Also at the event, Lakeside Health Advisory Board Member Rev. Dr. Robert L. Rease graduated from the Leadership Palm Beach County program. Rev. Rease has served on the Lakeside Health Advisory Board since 2014.

Rev. Rease is the pastor of St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Belle Glade. As a member of the Glades Area Ministerial Association (GAMA) he has worked to create a safe and peaceful community. He has also served on several boards to make the Glades communities a better place to live.
