The Health Care District of Palm Beach County opened its sixth pharmacy location on October 17th, 2017. The convenient location will provide C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics' patients the opportunity to obtain their prescription medications at the Jupiter clinic site weekdays at low or no cost. The Brumback Clinics serve adults and children with or without insurance and provide medical, dental, behavioral health, and women's health services. There are sites in seven cities throughout the county: Belle Glade, Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Jupiter, Lake Worth, Lantana, West Palm Beach.

"Our patients depend on their medications and often have limited access to transportation," said Christopher F. Irizarry, MPH, Vice President and Executive Director of Clinic Services for the Health Care District. "Providing pharmacy services inside the clinic is convenient and promotes optimal health for our patients. The service helps ensure patients don't delay filling their prescriptions. In addition, our pharmacy team is available on site to answer questions and educate our patients about taking their medications as prescribed."

The Jupiter clinic site began operations on March 6th, 2017 at 411 West Indiantown Road. We are co-located inside of MyClinic, one of the Brumback Clinics' community partners. MyClinic, purchased the 5,000 square foot medical office building and leases space within the facility to the Brumback Clinics. All C.L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics are Federally Qualified Health Centers owned and operated by the Health Care District.

"The opening of our pharmacy at our Jupiter clinic underscores the Health Care District's commitment to expanding access to quality health care services in our community," said Darcy J. Davis, the Health Care District's Chief Executive Officer. "Our primary care clinics are the front door of our healthcare delivery system. Providing low-cost, wraparound services under one roof is what we call 'a medical home.' It promotes efficiency and the good health of our patients."

The Health Care District's Pharmacy Program serves the C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics' adult and pediatric patients at five other clinic sites throughout Palm Beach County with plans to expand to a seventh site, the western Boca Raton clinic, by the end of 2017. The Pharmacy staff fills and dispenses over 265,000 prescriptions annually. Through the Federal 340B prescription program, Brumback Clinics' patients have access to low or no-cost medications.

"Providing additional access points for patients to receive medications is a win for our operations and the community we serve," said Hyla H. Fritsch, PharmD, CPh. "When patients have easier access to their medications, it translates into better compliance and improved overall health."
