District Cares is a health coverage program designed to provide affordable and accessible quality health care services to residents of Palm Beach County, who are not Medicaid or Medicare eligible and lack private health insurance. This is NOT insurance (creditable coverage), it is a limited health coverage program. Your enrollment in our program means you have access to a network of quality health care providers who, along with the District, are committed to providing health care services to you.
Your District Cares member handbook in English or Español is your main source of information for the program and its benefits. Please review your handbook to understand how to access the program services and benefits. It includes information on:
- Member Identification Card
- Primary Care Physicians
- Covered Services
- Pharmacy Benefits
- Customer Service
- Member Rights & Responsibilities
Carry your membership card with you at all times; it is your proof of enrollment in the District Cares Program. You will be asked to show your membership card plus one other form of identification when you receive services.
Do not allow anyone to use your membership card; misuse of your card may affect your enrollment within the program.
Lost or Stolen membership cards must be reported immediately. Contact the Customer Service Department at (866) 930-0035.
Also, it is important that you establish and maintain a close relationship with your Primary Care Physician (PCP), who will treat, supervise and coordinate your medical care. If you are in need of a specialist, your PCP will refer you to a specialist within our provider network.
See your provider directory (PDF) for a listing of primary care, specialty and other health care providers available; Including pharmacies, labs and hospitals.
If you have a question or comment, Customer Service is available to you Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at (866) 930-0035.
