Joel H. Snook, VP and Financial Officer
Joel H. Snook is the Chief Financial Officer for the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, a public safety net health care system encompassing primary care and dental clinics, a rural, acute-care teaching hospital, a skilled nursing facility, school-based health clinics, pharmacies, a coordinated trauma system and health coverage for eligible uninsured residents. Mr. Snook’s primary responsibility is to manage the Health Care District’s finances to include financial planning, management of financial risks and system-wide financial reporting.
Mr. Snook joined the Health Care District in August 2019 having previously served as the Chief Financial Officer for a large multi-specialty physician practice in Largo, Florida owned by Guidewell Health, Inc. He has over 30 years of experience as a healthcare Chief Financial Officer for hospitals, large multi-state home health agencies and large multi-specialty physician practices. Mr. Snook has served as CFO for such companies as HCA, Vanguard, Senior Home Care and Phycor. He began his career with Price Waterhouse.
Mr. Snook has a proven history of working with administrative teams and aggressively turning low margin facilities around to profitability through business, program and partnership development, expense management, staff education and intervention, and operational productivity enhancements.
Mr. Snook is a Certified Public Accountant in Florida with a Masters and Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Florida State University.
