Lakeside Medical Center is a top-ranked public hospital by America’s Essential Hospitals. In 2022 we were named the most racially inclusive hospital in the nation, number one among 2,800 facilities, by the Lown Institute. Other national recognition includes the the 2023 AORN Center of Excellence in Surgical Safety: Prevention of RSI award and 2020 gold-level AORN Go Clear Award™ for safety in surgery and Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by the Joint Commission in 2011, 2013 and 2014. In 2023, our Family Medicine Residency Program graduated its eleventh class of Family Medicine Residents. We are Florida’s only rural, teaching hospital.

Our staff is committed to serve. Our employees work to ensure high quality care and access for all, especially the most vulnerable. We are proud to have extremely high patient satisfaction. Our patients are key to that success. We want to hear from you. If you want to commend those who cared for you, let us know. If there are ways we can improve, let us know. With your help, we will continue to change lives and impact generations.

A big part of our impact is thanks to our “Hospitalists.” Hospitalists are working in our Family Medicine Residency Program. They are committed to improving the health of our community. They help us expand access and build capacity. Our hospitalists believe it is a privilege to serve “the Glades”.

Our goal is to meet your needs. We know you have a choice. We are glad you trust us to take care of you and your family!
