Health Care District Leaders Participate in North Palm Beach Chamber Forum on County’s Opioid Epidemic

The Health Care District of Palm Beach County was proud to participate in the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce Health Care Committee's annual Civic Engagement event which addressed the county's opioid crisis.  Darcy J. Davis, Chief Executive Officer, Belma Andric, MD, MPH, Chief Medical Officer and Alina M. Alonso, MD, Director of the Department of Health in Palm Beach County and Health Care District Board Member were among the distinguished panelists who discussed "The Impact of Pain, Opiates, and Depression in our Community." The event, which drew about 90 attendees, was held on Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018 at the Riviera Beach Marina Event Center.  The panel discussion included information about the Health Care District's successful Medication Addiction Treatment (MAT) program for patients of the District's Federally Qualified Health Centers, the C. L. Brumback Primary Care Clinics.  Other panelists included: Neal de Jesus, President, Fire Chiefs Association of Palm Beach County; Aldo Morales, MD, FASAM, Retreat at Palm Beach, and Mark Rubenstein, MD, Palm Beach County Medical Society.
