Governor Rick Scott has appointed Darcy J. Davis, Chief Executive Officer of the Health Care District of Palm Beach County, to the Palm Beach State College District Board of Trustees. Ms. Davis succeeds Charles Cross Jr. who served as chair of the five-member board.  She is appointed for a term beginning April 5, 2018 and ending May 31, 2021. The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.

In 2016, Ms. Davis was named the CEO of the Health Care District, a unique and diverse public health care system encompassing a nationally recognized trauma system, a skilled nursing facility, a rural teaching hospital, school-based health clinics, pharmacies, primary care and dental clinics, and health coverage for the uninsured.  Ms. Davis joined the Health Care District in July 2011 and has served in several roles of increasing responsibility, including chief financial officer/chief operating officer, prior to her promotion to the top executive role.

Before joining the District, she served in executive positions including Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for a complex academic medical center and she has held other key financial and operational roles over her 25 years in the health care industry.

Ms. Davis serves as a member of the county’s Heroin Task Force and Sober Home Task Force. She also serves on America’s Essential Hospitals’ Strategic Planning Committee, the Board of Directors of the Southeast Florida Behavioral Health Network and the Board of Directors of the South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association. She was recognized by the South Florida Business Journal in 2016, 2017 and 2018 as a Power Leader in Healthcare and in 2017 as one of South Florida’s Most Influential Executives.  She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Mercer University and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Troy State University.
